The Happy Boy (my prequel to Jack and the Beanstalk)

The Happy Boy (my prequel to Jack and the Beanstalk)
By
Jamie Driver

Once upon a time there lived a boy named Jack. Jack lived in a rich palace. He was a joyful boy who played and walked gleefully through the forest.  Riding on his horse he would race with his friends.  Generously the King gave him a pet monkey who acted silly because Jack acted like a monkey too.  On certain occasions Jack took trips around the world and saw famous landmarks.  Life was as wonderful as a scoop of ice cream.  Jack was a happy boy.

One day a wild fire burned down everything.  Because of the fire Jack was as poor as a rat.  He decided to journey.  While he was traveling, there were dangerously stormy nights and snowy nights. Walking down a dirt road, Jack made a friend, who was a deer.  Instantly he made a friend and named the deer Patch because the deer had one white patch. Beyond the hills Jack spotted some land which gave Jack a fantastic idea.

The land had rich soil and the land was as wonderful as the palace.  Jack built a house.  Running around with glee, Jack simultaneously found a poor cow, who was lost.  Because Jack found the cow, he was now able to drink milk.  Successfully Jack burned sticks and grew a garden. Because of the milk, veggies, fire, and house Jack was happy, unless it was snowy.

The Story of the 3 Little Mice

The Story of the 3 Little Mice
By

(My story of The True Story of the 3 Little Pigs)

I am a cat. My name is Culvin C. Cox, like fox but with a C. I am always hungry.  Because my cousin Cal was having a birthday, I thought it would be nice to make him a cheese soufflĂ©. Delightfully I started baking and then searchingly I noticed I had no cheese.  Instead of going to the store, I decided to ask the 3 mice who live in the hallway of my house.  The mice that live in my house are quite bothersome, but when you need cheese what better place to hunt down cheese than where pesky mice live.

“Hello Max the Mouse, do you have some cheese, that I may use?” I asked.  “Not by the pitter patter of my feet,” answered Max.  Viciously like a lion I said, “Then I’ll destroy and scratch your hole away.”  After I ferociously scratched the filthy hole away, the mouse, who had passed out was just laying there. Why just leave a mouse lying there on the floor when I am just standing here? Since I am a cat (and because mice are my favorite snack), can you guess what I did? Yep, I ate him.

I went to Ms. Margaret Mouse and the same thing happened Stuffed liked a pig, I went down the hall some more. “Hello Mr. Mike Mickey,” I said pleasantly.  He would not give me cheese by the pitter patter of his feet, which of course was not a surprise.  Naturally I was frustrated.  Because Mr. Mike Mickey is the smarter mouse he had already called the “concatstable”.  So when they showed up I had already destroyed the entire wall.  Despite my protest I was locked in jail and that is my insane story for just some cheese.

The Amazing but Crazy Cow

The Amazing but Crazy Cow

My sequel to The Cow Who Wouldn’t Come Down

On one hot summer afternoon Miss Rosemary, who was calmly swimming in her pool, was practicing her butterfly stroke.  Gertrude her cow was driving her tractor down the road in a farmer’s outfit, when she noticed Miss Rosemary.  Excitedly Gertrude stopped, jumped off, and ran into the barn to put on a bathing suit with tractors on it.  She rushed to the diving platform as if it were hay and –SPLASH- jumped in.  Miss Rosemary was shocked because she had never seen her cow swim and even better doing the butter fly stroke.  Miss Rosemary made an important call.  She called the Olympic headquarters and got her cow a spot in the Summer Olympics.  She was sure her cow would win the gold swimming Olympic medal.

Miss Rosemary and Gertrude traveled to Beijing for the Summer Olympics.  Gertrude put on her tractor suit and started on her first lap.  Off went the buzzer and she was zooming, because she had eaten 41 protein bars, which were very energizing.  After the laps the judges announced that Gertrude was the gold medalist.  Quickly Gertrude sprung up to the stage as if she was a kangaroo and started to sing and dance.  Everybody was amazed.  The swimmers thought that she was a crazy cow.

Because of Gertrude’s performance Miss Rosemary sold her to the circus.  She did every act perfectly.  She did the trapeze and was a clown. Gertrude did everything you think a crazy cow could do.  She became a famous, amazing but crazy cow, which made Gertrude rich. While Gertrude was at the circus, Miss Rosemary bought another cow.  Instantly that cow also began to fly!  Inside Miss Rosemary was devastated.

The Hectic Dinner

The Hectic Dinner
By
Jamie Driver

It is a rainy evening, and Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump are about to have dinner.  “So are you still leading in the polls?” asks Hillary.  Pleasingly Donald Trump replies, “Oh yes far ahead of Cruz, Fiorina, and other candidates.” “What if I become president?” asks Hillary.  “I would become a democrat again, it is all part of the plan,” Trump replies professionally. “If I win I will make things worse like a democrat.”  “Hey! Lets invite Ted Cruz and Carly Fiorina to our dinner,” announces Trump.  Hillary suggests,” I will bake a cake.”  Trump sophisticatedly states, “Put a jumbo democrat symbol and a tiny tiny republican symbol on that cake, because democrats have more power.” In about an hour Hillary comes out yelling, “It’s Done!!!” as she lays it on the table.  “Where in the world are they?” questioned Trump.  Despite the rain which was falling very hard that evening, Ted and Carly were right down the road.

Ted Cruz and Carly Fiorina arrive in an excellent manner. “Hello Donald and Hillary,” exclaimed Cruz in a nervous state.  Cruz and Carly are shocked that Hillary Clinton is there.  “Hello Ted Cruz,” replies Hillary. “Welcome Carly Fiorina,” replies Trump.  They sit down at the enormously humongous table which had salad, spaghetti, wine, and cake.  “Who would like to start a discussion?” suggests Hillary. “I will!!!” shouts Donald.  “ When I become president (because I will become president…) my first day in office I am going to make a wall and make Mexico pay for that wall and after that I’m  going to take a vacation and do some relaxation,” states Trump lazily.  Boldly Cruz states “When I become president the first thing I am going to do is turn over all of Obama’s executive orders.” “Don’t start that Ted,” pushes in Trump rudly.  At that moment Carly steps in and states “When I become president I am going to make two phone calls…”  “O.K. O.K. we know, “ interrupts Trump again.  “I will send federal troops to destroy ISIS,” promises Ted.  “Hillary is my good friend even though I am a Republican,” stated Trump. “So?” Cruz and Fiorina exclaimes at the same moment.  Instantly Trump continues “That means I am more Democrat than Republican.” Ted and Carly just smiled trying to use their manners, but they were not surprised at Trumps puerile remarks.

Outside is lovely and everyone was done with dinner, so they left the table and went out to enjoy the weather.  “Who do you think will win the next debate?” asks Donald Trump.  “There is no telling,” replies Cruz, “because I will talk strongly about defunding Planned Parenthood.”  Trump replied irritably “See you in a week. “ “Don’t you mean tomorrow?” states Carly coolly. “Unless I am five minutes late, “ replies Trump.  Thankfully they gave goodbyes, complemented dinner, and left the hectic dinner.

I have written this story for my writing assignment, because I am rooting for Ted Cruz and hope Donald Trump will fall in the polls and will not be in the final debates.

Sticky Contest

Once there was Mom named Lily.  Lily was baking a divine chocolate cake, because the store was out of vanilla.  Suddenly Lily notices she was totally out of eggs.  Since it was a nice day she decided to stroll to the store.  Lily was calling a her mommy friend to watch her son who was playing outside.

While she was gone the friend was taking care of the dog, who had made a mess.  Messily Lily's son stunk into the kitchen and poured sticky glue into the batter.  Since he did this he went into his room and sleepily took a nap.  He forgot all about the mess of glue all over the counter. The babysitter was shocked to find him in his room asleep because she was taking care of the dog.

When Lily came home she was shocked by the sticky mess all over the kitchen.  Lily couldn't figure out who made this mess.  She was so MAD, because she was making that cake for a competition.  Lily asked the babysitter and she didn't know how it got there.  Quietly her son woke up, and she found him covered in glue.  Inside she was terribly sad because she would have to start over.  Even though Lily was still shocked she cleaned the sticky mess in the kitchen, but luckily she still won the competition.

The Empty Chair

Once upon a time there was a man whose name was Phillip who was reading by his lamp.  Phillip had just visited an amazing library, where he had borrowed Alice in Wonderland.  It was a very hot day outside and the light bulb that was in the lamp went out.  Because it was the only light bulb he had, he used half electricity and half fire light bulb.  In his bright room, Phillip could relax reading by his lamp.

While Phillip was reading he stopped and stared at the lamp.  Oddly the lamp was melting.  He sat there in astonishment.  He was constantly wondering if he was in Alice in Wonderland, because it was so weird.  He didn't know what to do.  Phillip stared.  On his lap was the thick book which fell to the floor as he jumped up and ran away from the lamp.

The chair was empty.  According to Phillip the lamp as totally melted.  Simultaneously his house exploded, which was a great loss to him.  Nobody believed his lamp melted, because nobody had ever heard of that.  Philip traveled to the cold, snowy state of Alaska and stayed there.  He once again visited the library and borrowed Alice in Wonderland and his chair was no longer empty....and he never bought a lamp again.

A Wonderful Girl Named Therese

Therese Martin was a wonderful girl who was called The Little Flower of Jesus.  She was very devoted to her faith, she was born in France on January 2nd of 1873.  Sadly her Mom died of cancer and her funeral was at Notre Dame.  She suffered from Nervous Tremoses. One time she had a very horrible moment with the devil and her family brought the statue of Mary into her room and she was better,  Because of this she wrote " Our Blessed Lady has come upon me, she has smiled upon me. How happy I am."  She also suffered from scrupulosity.  Although she was only the young age of 15, she wanted to enter a Carmelite Convent.  So she journeyed to see the pope for permission.  The pope said " Well, my child, do what the superiors decide... you will enter if it is God's will." Eventually the Bishop said yes and she entered on April 9, 1888.  On September 30, 1897 she died at the age of 24 after suffering from tuberculosis.  Her last words were " My God, I Love You."  She was buried on October 4, 1897.  Therese was a wonderful person and we can follow her way to be closer to Jesus.

America's Common Clothing Creator

Levi Strauss was a famous man who invented the common clothing we wear today called jeans.  He was born in 1829 in Buttenheim which is near the German/Austrian border.  When he was 18 he moved to New York.  Then in 1853 he moved to San Fransisco to work in his brother's store.  During the gold rush a man asked Levi if he could make him pants out of canvas.  So he did and people asked for more.  Once he asked more canvas but instead he got demand named then jeans.  People loved Levi Strauss' jeans.  In 1902 sadly he died and because of his popularity people closed their shops to go to his funeral.  Levi was an amazing person to have created America's most common piece of clothing.

Beautiful Pearls

Pearls have an amazing way of forming.  Oysters are great for food and production. To form a pearl a small object travels under the mantle of the oyster which causes irritation.  Because the oyster secretes a substance, a mother-of-pearl forms and it stops the irritation.  It takes a long time for the layers of substance to form the pearl.  The Japanese encourage the oysters to make artificial pearls, since it takes 3-4 years for a pearl to form.  After the beautiful pearls form, we collect them and make jewelry.

My ways to cope with worries

By finding ways of coping with my worries, I can be happier.  One way I cope is to draw for my Etsy shop or for people.  Reading is great because your mind is in another land.  I also like to play games like Simon Says or card games.  Schoolwork keeps me busy too.  I love to run outside to happily jump on the trampoline or swing.  I often write in my red journal which allows me to write my worries down. I talk a lot with people about my worries.  Although not all of these helps make it easier for me to cope with my worries, most of them do.

Sharing the Truth

Catholicism is the true religion.  Jesus founded the Catholic Church when He gave the keys to Peter who was the 1st pope in Matt 16:18.  The Holy Spirit and the Pope spiritually lead the Catholic Church.  Baptism and Confirmation are the two Sacraments that make you Catholic.  Catholics believe that Jesus is in the Eucharist.  Among the unbelieveable 1.2 billion Catholics in the world, 78.2 million are in the U.S.  Because they love their faith, Catholics share with others the truth about Catholicism.

Harmful Food

Food Allergies can be really harmful to some people.

There are a few ways you can get food allergies.  Some harmful foods are wheat and eggs. Really harmful foods are nuts especially peanuts.  If a mother munches peanuts or other foods while she is nursing the infant could become allergic to that food because of the exposure.  The child who is fed peanuts could become allergic to it as they grow for example.  If we live in a super clean environment, the body doesn't fight off germs.  Instead they fight food we should be able to eat.  Families can pass-on food allergies to there children.  Food allergies are usually discovered in children rather than adults.

When you swallow food you are allergic to you can have horrible symptoms.  Some symptoms are runny nose, rashes, and sneezing.  People who gobble peanuts, milk, wheat, and nuts can also get tummy aches, diarrhea, and itchiness.  You can find out why you have food allergies by taking blood test.  When you find out the problem, hardly any symptoms appear because you won't swallow that food.

Celiac Disease is like a wheat allergy.  Wheat allergy is often confused with celiac disease.  Because celiac disease is a condition in which gluten affects the whole digestive system., people with celiac disease have a higher risk of losing red blood cells and lowering bone density.  Most people outgrow wheat allergies or can swallow other grains, but people who have celiac disease need to avoid other grains sometimes too.  Wheat allergies aren't always a major disease but celiac disease is.

Food allergies can be harmful to me, but more harmful to other people who have food allergies.
